Nedbank Namibia was honoured with four Diamond Arrow Awards at the annual Professional Management Review (PMR) Awards ceremony held on 15 March 2021 in the capital city, Windhoek.
In the Banks category, Nedbank Namibia received recognition for Agriculture, Business Banking, Credit Cards and Personal Banking.
'The Diamond Arrow Awards reaffirms our commitment to our clients, stakeholders and shareholders. Today, we look back with admiration on the milestones we have accomplished, and most importantly, we look forward to breaking new ground in the market,' said Gernot de Klerk, Head of Marketing and Communication for Nedbank Namibia.
The Nedbank Namibia Diamond Arrows have been dedicated to all employees who go above and beyond, to all clients who believe that Nedbank Namibia is a trusted partner and to every individual who has contributed to this joint effort. 'Recognition is a great motivator, and it is my sincere hope that these awards will inspire all of us to keep on our trajectory and travel beyond,' added De Klerk.
The PMR Africa survey profiles business excellence in Namibia as a growth point and potential investment area for foreign and local developers and investors. Its purpose is to measure companies, institutions, government entities and individuals on their contribution to the economic growth and development of the country, levels of management expertise, implementation of corporate governance and levels of innovation. It further measures the competencies of companies, institutions and government entities, including brand awareness. These ratings are based on the perceptions of the respondents.
Nedbank Namibia has been performing well and received various PMR awards over the past decade, and prides itself in offering a complete range of banking solutions for individuals, small businesses and corporates.
In keeping with its digital strategy, which aims to make banking more convenient for the client, Nedbank has introduced the award-winning Money app in 2019 and upgraded its Online Banking platform in 2020. This was not merely an upgrade on existing mobile banking technology, but the start of a fundamental re-approach to the bank’s digital channels. Centred on client needs, this innovation brought forward the convenience of banking from home, especially during Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
'The stakes have never been higher. Nedbank Namibia will remain relentless in our efforts to continuously ensure convenient and easy banking that offers peace of mind, knowing that excellent cybersecurity measures are strictly adhered to protect clients,’De Klerk continued. 'Over the past few months, our digital platforms have also seen the introduction of IDToday, a digital identity management platform that enables the remote submission of the regulatory proof of identity documents - simplifying the process of opening a bank account on your cellphone. And Nedbank’s CashOut service option is a simple way of getting cash when buying groceries from your favourite participating supermarket or chain store. These services and more remain imperative as we all learn to navigate changing times.'
'The PMR accolades show the trust our clients, stakeholders and shareholders have in our business, but there is always room for improvement. As we strive to be the most admired financial services provider in Africa, we sincerely value this feedback and will use it as building blocks to improve our services countrywide,' said De Klerk.
